- You will get an “Download failed because you may not have purchased this app” error if. If your device is running under these specs, the game may not run.
- Hi, I try this morning to play the game, as i suddenly got this error. 'Downloading additional resources' and then in the middle of the dowload. App permissions in my phone, that denied the app to download the new patch.
- Whenever I install a game with an obb file in memory card, it says download failed because the resources could not be found, but that doesn't happen when I copy the obb file to internal memory. When i first installed the games, everything was fine.
so the battlenet app does launch but when i try to launch overwatch this error appears and nothing else happens.no idea how to fix it it only happened since the doomfist patch please help
if anyone has the same issue i found a solution.

I followed the steps on the other thread and this worked for me:
1) Open the blizzard app
2) While the app is open, go to your installation folder and delete Overwatch Launcher.exe and Overwatch.exe (Just send them to recyclebin don't delete permanently just in case) / or move the two files in a Temp folder.
3) Go back to app then run scan and repair under options. It will download the two files and somehow that will fix it.
Enjoy!

@Neovlk On the app select Overwatch, in the main window under the Overwatch logo you should see 'Options', 'Scan & Repair' is in this menu.

I'm having the same issue now. Scan & Repair option does not seem to fix the issue. A reinstall is the lowest option for me due to the size of the game and DL speed being of 12mbps

Okay, nothing anyone has suggested worked for me. So I discovered a fix myself. I exited the Battle.net launcher, then located the Overwatch folder and moved it temporarily to my desktop. I launched Battle.net and began a new installation of Overwatch, just long enough until it switched from Fetching to Downloading and the word Playable was grayed out. (Maybe 30 seconds) Next I paused the installation and closed Battle.net, I moved the original Overwatch folder from my Desktop back to where I found it. I deleted Overwatch.exe and Overwatch Launcher.exe then launched Battle.net. I un-paused the installation and the status bar immediately jumped to 100% and read Initializing. The game was playable within 10 seconds.
I checked the Overwatch folder, and the two files I delete were replaced.
I hope this helps. Good luck!

Same issues - game was 'running' but no response. Removing the overwatch exes from the game folder didn't help by itself, but your suggestion of moving the folder and replacing contents once the fresh DL began, worked!
Awesome work dude. Lifesaver
i couldn't move the folder at all, ended up uninstalling and reinstalling it and that worked

^^^ Worked like a charm. Thanks DeputyDaz. Much appreciated :)
I found out my issue, the game was on my SDD, so it didn't have enough room for the whole update. so I deleted and reinstalled on my HDD, issue resolved.

This worked perfectly! Thank you. :)
Seems to be a lot of it about.
I gave up on the scan workarounds because the progress bar hadn't moved after 5 minutes. If it kept going at that rate it would have taken far far longer than the reinstall, which went on exactly long enough to prevent me playing today (read: yesterday).
